Denée Beauté: Fall Makeover Flare

Let’s have fun with our Fall makeover! I love the changing of the seasons and want to share with you the most on-trend looks for this season. One only needs hit to visit Stanley Park to see all the changes in nature and this season we are emulating the beauty of natural transition.

In most cities Fall means a complete transition from shorts to parka coats, in Vancouver it merely means the addition of a few more layer of clothing. No umbrella’s – those are for visitors – real Vancouverite’s know every awning and shopping mall passageway to get around.

Typically for a Fall makeover, we would see the resurgence of the smoky eye, typically in shades of grey, silver and black. This Fall, however, trends have really changed. Put away those gunmetal shades and pull out those warm shades that are reminiscent of the leaves that have fallen to the earth. Burnt oranges, coppers and cranberries are all the rage as seen at lines such as Chanel and Cle de Peau Beauté. Don’t hesitate when thinking about diving into this truly sumptuous and sexy trend. These colours make blues eyes shimmer like the Aegaen Sea, green eyes glimmer like emeralds and brown eyes appear bright amber. Added bonus? These colours work on every single skin tone.

Always start your makeup application with a crease resistant base. This will help keep the eyeshadow perfect all day long and help to ensure that your eyeshadow blends like a dream. Using a base whether cream, stick or powder, can also be used to intensify or soften the eyeshadow that you are applying on top. Always remember when using colour palettes such as this on the eye that you MUST anchor the colour with eyeliner. It can be dark brown or black or whatever you typically wear. The beauty of this trend is that it really works for everyone.

Black was used on these models makeover because the colours are so warm the black eyeliner seems less harsh. For day you can simply sweep a copper tone over the lid, blend out the crease with a neutral mushroom shade. Add your eyeliner and little mascara. To kick the look up for evening blend a deeper bronze shade in the outer third of your lid. Intensify with a matte deep brown. Wing your eyeliner if you are feeling sassy then add a ton of mascara and a set of false lashes. Voila! C’est magnifigue!

I love love love tonal looks – is is possible to have too much love? Pick your favourite warm toned blush and lip in peach, copper or bronze. Completely warms up the face and brings back some much needed colour headed into the colder months. For daytime, pop the apples of your cheek with gentle swish of colour, for evening sculpt your cheeks with your favorite bronzer and highlighter, then apply your blush. Daytime lips can be a deliciously peachy lipgloss then after work pair that lipgloss with burnt orange lipstick.

While you are packing away your summer clothes and preparing for Fall do not forget that your makeup bag deserves some love too. We all walk a runway everyday, whether we know it or not! Be fabulous this Fall in everything from your pumpkin spice latte from Starbucks, including your makeup.

Until next month everyone!
