With buds and blossoms slowly peeking out in Vancouver, we are leaving it to Fleurs de Villes, Canada’s premiere Floral Mannequin Series, to bring the Spring flowers.
Fleurs de Villes, or Flowers of the Cities, is a touring exhibition that connects local florists, designers, growers, and nurseries, with iconic brands to create stunning floral fashion-focused installations.
Fleurs de Villes’ founders, Karen Marshall Ducommun and Tina Barkley, wanted to create a unique event— something that could give people of all walks of life a chance to “stop and smell the roses”— so they created Fleurs de Villes, a bespoke flower event that “blooms with happiness.”
“Flowers make us happy, they always have. They reach a broad audience, they amaze, and they delight.”
Karen Marshall Ducommun
Over a dozen of Vancouver’s top florists, including The Flower Factory, Floralista Flower Studio, and Quince Fine Florals, will be paired with leading brands to design stunning displays and bring them to life with flowers. Each floral-dressed mannequin is clothed in a one-of-a-kind design made up of hundreds of fresh blooms. This unique, five-day exhibition is the first of its kind in Canada, blending fashion design and fresh flowers, and on Saturday, April 8th it will also feature a pop-up fresh flower market so you can take some of the inspiration home with you.
Fleurs de Villes returns to Greater Vancouver from April 5-9, 2017 at Metropolis at Metrotown, the second stop on the event’s inaugural cross-Canada tour. All week, shoppers can peruse the display, snap photos, and vote for their favourite mannequin for a chance to win exclusive prizes.
If you can’t make it to this spectacular event, don’t worry— Blush will be sending our newest and youngest reporter #MissB Bracken Hanke to capture all of the spectacular blooms and stunning designs. Follow-up with her on our social media!
