Get all aboard the beauty that is Rocky Mountaineer! When you take a trip across Canada, from glittering oceans to untamed wilderness, there are four distinct routes that will move you in ways you never dreamed and that far exceed your imagination.
Within the unique world of rail travel, Rocky Mountaineer is so much more than just a train. It is the key to unlocking a hidden world of unparalleled beauty as you carve through otherwise inaccessible terrain in the Canadian Rockies where you will indulge in the most luxurious journey you have ever experienced.
As you walk into the station on your first day, you will be greeted by a sea of smiling faces. These are your fellow-adventurers, your future friends. Together, at about 45 km/hr, you will be truly moved as you scale the sides of mountains or weave alongside steep canyons, all without having to worry if you brought the right shoes.
The Rocky Mountaineer offers two classes of service. Choose between either GoldLeaf or SilverLeaf service for your journey, and do not worry, no matter which service you choose you will be spoiled in the all-dome fleet with all around first class service, spacious seats, and incredible views.
On board, you will find delectable dining crafted by Rocky Mountaineers team of award-winning Executive Chefs. The team truly relishes in creating sophisticated and diverse menus with the finest, locally sourced ingredients from the Pacific Northwest. Let your taste buds be tantalized as all meals served are inspired by Western Canada’s diverse culinary landscape, the rich tapestry of cultures, and the bountiful regions that you will travel through. On board the Rocky Mountaineer, as part of your journey, you will receive breakfast and lunch as well as complimentary beverages (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) and gourmet snacks.
With heartwarming stories and historical tidbits, there will be stops along the way that will allow you to have the opportunity to get out and experience the beauty around you with day tours. As the evening sun casts a golden glow on the landscape, since the Rocky Mountaineer does not offer sleeper accommodations, you will climb off the train and into a comfortable hotel bed that has been hand chosen just for you. This allows you to wake up each morning refreshed, knowing that there is a whole new adventure just waiting for you.
The Rocky Mountaineer’s route options are available from April to October each year. The months are when the region is showing off its full colours and has the longest days to take full advantage of those daylight hours. Many itineraries will take you through Banff, Lake Louise, Jasper, and Calgary allowing you to revel in the beauty that Western Canada has to offer.
All journeys are amazing, but dependent on your interest, the months offer different options. Flora, fauna, and wildlife are all beginning to emerge in April and May. Waterways will be rushing and there is often still snow dusting the mountain peaks. July and August are prime summer months, perfect for the avid hiker or outdoor adventurer as most of the trails are open. This is also the best time for the floral season and Western Maple trees. And in September you may start to see snow-capped peaks, bears, and eagles.
Consider adding an Alaskan Cruise to create your complete dream experience. The perfect package is out there just waiting for you.
Happy and heartfelt travels to you!
