April 22 is the annual celebration of Earth Day, this year, Vivienne Westwood, Pamela Anderson and French-Canadian retailer Simons celebrated the occasion with the launch of the exclusive Vivienne Westwood ‘Save the Arctic’ T-shirt across Simons’ Canada-wide and online stores.
In celebration, they partnered with international sustainable fashion event Eco Fashion Week to launch the collection. The event was an opportunity to share inspiring words, view the T-shirt and shop for the cause, with 100% of profits going to Save the Arctic.
Blush’s very own Miss B was in attendance to give her pint-sized perspective on the evening’s events. Take it away Miss B!
Now, I know I may only be ten, but I know one thing for sure. The earth is dying, and it is our fault, but we also have a chance to save it, and this past Saturday Simons and Vivienne Westwood launched an initiative to raise money and awareness of this growing crisis.
Last Saturday was Earth Day, and I was excited to go to Eco Fashion Week’s event at Simons to celebrate the launch of Simons’ and Vivienne Westwood’s new campaign, Save the Arctic. As well as unveiling the awesome T-shirts, there were also several guest speakers who came to talk about climate change and what we can do to help the Earth.
They had a very special guest speaker, Actress, and Activist Pamela Anderson. Pamela talked about the huge problems our world is facing, like the fact the humans kill way more animals than we need and are losing our natural resources. She also talked about the Amazonian forests being cut down, and the Great Barrier Reef of Australia being destroyed, and how we need to make changes to our lives to cut back our harmful impact on the world and our natural resources as well as making sure the government acts. Because if we don’t stop now, the Earth will die! If the Earth dies, we die.
The one thing that was great to see was how the night brought all kinds of people together; there were environmentalists, fashion designers, socialites, and even drag queens!
As well as being really interesting the event was also very fun! All the food was plantbased with only one dish being vegetarian and everybody who worked there was super kind and welcoming.
My favorite thing about the event was all the inspiring speeches. I came away with a lot of hope about the campaign and the message it is sending.
