As a brand, Moen has always been respected as the pinnacle of fully planned and thoughtful design when it comes to kitchen and bath technology. It is this love of its design core that has kept consumers coming back for the newest looks and technology.
BLUSHVancouver readers are shoppers, DIY’ers, and also love hearing about companies and brands that are ecofriendly for their homes.
Now that it is summer, talk is all about water – local levels, lawn watering, companies buying and selling water, and the list goes on. So we decided to sit down with Moen and find out what is new for the home builders and renovators this summer.
As it turns out, Moen takes pride on being stewards of the environment. All products are water sensor certified and at a low velocity rate. As a company that deals specifically with water, it’s very important for them to be conscious of the environment and to deliver good quality. That whatever the consumer chooses they will in turn have the same experience.
I recently met with a Moen rep to discuss the latest eco-friendly pieces for this season.
Moen believes that rather than keeping up with the Joneses, they like to keep their feet on the ground to see firsthand what people like. To make sure that the products they produce extend beyond time and aspire to improve on not only what other brands have designed, but also their own. For instance, the STo kitchen faucet now has an option for the new MotionSense technology. In addition, its spray wand tucks in for a more streamline and modern look, and is designed with a Spot Resist or a matte black finish.
New Moen Technologies
Speaking of sensory innovations, hands-free is a game changer in kitchen task performance. So how does Moen’s latest designs accomplish that?
The answer is simple, MotionSense. The objective is to have quicker tasks, less cleaning, and control cross contamination. Also, the sensors have a built in attribute to temporarily shut off the automatic feature via an ‘on’ and ‘off’ switch.
How does technology play a role in Moen’s innovations?
The Power Clean technology has 50% more spray power to clean up heavy-duty residue around the sink, while maintaining water splash back. Greater force means faster cleanup with less water used. The Reflex is a flexible hose that easily slides and moves for any angle or distant use. The hose effortlessly retracts on its own to a secure dock.
I keep reading about this Spot Resist finish? What is that?
This design features a coating finish for both kitchen and bath faucet fixtures that prevent the appearance of stains, fingerprints, and splash back. It is available in select water fixtures such as Align, Tilt, and Belfield.
It seems as though all my friends are renovating this summer! Which product would you suggest for the consumer who prefers a more contemporary look and design?
Pretty much everything! Align for the kitchen, and Via for bath.
What about those looking to go for a more traditional look and feel?
I would suggest Belfield for the kitchen, and the neo-traditional design Dartmoor for the bathroom.
Let’s Talk New Designs for the Bathroom
I am sure you agree with me when I say, there is nothing more shocking that stepping into a cold shower early in the morning! Tell us about the ioDigital shower system.
This particular system is powered by a remote with fourcustomizable presets that configure to personal preference. The easy-to-use technology maintains the perfect temperature and water level every time. It is like programming a favourite radio station.
I have been reading a lot about the Glyde faucet and how everyone loves its long spout reach, curves, and contours. Tell me more about this fixture.
These faucets are a part of the Glyde transitional design bathroom collection. It’s a simple silhouette with a charming impact in the bathroom. Designed to complement an under-mount sink, its characteristics enhances the look of a vanity. The Glyde is also available in a showerhead with larger diameter water coverage, and matching spray face.
I feel the most intuitive product to date is the Magnetix with its optimized shower time. How is it different from standard hand showers?
This innovative technology improves the showering experience by creating a shower arm that sits on a magnetic dock. It removes the challenge of some hand showers by making it easier to release and secure back in place. The Magnetix features six high-performance spray options with the choice of dial or push button to change between pressure settings.
