It was standing room only at the Vancouver Art Gallery, as part one of the Nordstrom Gala kicked off. Over the evening more than 2,500 guests would attend the luxury fashion show and grand opening of the new 230,000 sq. ft. Nordstrom flagship store at CF Pacific Centre.
VIPs, celebrities, local personalities, fashionista, members of the Nordstrom family posed for the cameras upon entering the cocktail reception at the VAG against a large wall of custom greenery. Numerous style-bloggers and media influencers rubbed shoulders with supermodels Coco Rocha, Amber Valletta, Karolina Kurkova, actors Zachary Quinto (Star Trek) and Camilla Belle.
The second location was Robson Square, which had been tented and enclosed. Patrons were escorted down the red carpet into the ethereally lit space which transitioned from concrete steps into a zig zag runway over which 38 models introduced 85 looks from top international designers which Nordstrom will be carrying.
Apres the fashion show, patrons were police escort and bicycle carriages across the street to the third location which was the whole Nordstrom Pacific Centre. Live mannequins and team members greeted everyone as they entered. A live band was the shoes section and there was a DJ on up on the upper floors, appetizers, dessert carts, grapefruit martini’s in a bottle and fully stocked open bar.
The gala opening raised $420,000 for local charity organizations including BC Children’s Hospital Foundation, BC Women’s Hospital + Health Care Foundation, Covenant House Vancouver and the Vancouver Art Gallery.
Nordstrom’s has many unique features including being pet-friendly, girlfriend change rooms, a private shopping area, 3 cafe/restaurants, free ChargeItSpot cell phone charging stations and Vancouver’s first Drybar blow-out boutique.
