Vancouver Indigenous Fashion Week is the brainchild of its Executive Producer Joleen Mitton. Born and raised in East Vancouver and of Plains Cree, French, and Scottish heritage, Joleen spent 17 years travelling the world as a professional model, shooting campaigns for renowned brands and fashion houses such as Kenzo, Y3, Vivienne Westwood, Lancome, Clinique, L’oreal and more. Although she loved the art of the fashion world, she did not always agree with the industry’s appropriation and un-acknowledgement of Indigenous symbolism and culture and wanted to make a difference.  In 2014 she founded All My Relations Ltd. and is dedicated to working with Indigenous communities through social activism and mentorship, using fashion as a platform to connect all peoples with Indigenous values, wisdom, empowerment and history.
